"Henry" -

Henry is a special boy. He lived in a 4 x 4 pen for 4 years with little to no attention from his owners.  We believe that Henry is between 4 1/2- 5 ys old. Henry is happy to be free and is loving all of the attention he is getting.  He's in foster care with other dogs where he plays non-stop. He loves toys and lives to retrieve them.  Henry is very smart and will make a great running partner.

Henry was neglected of proper medical  care in the past and needs to undergo heartworm treatment before he can be adopted. Please consider making a donation for Henry's heartworm treatment so he can enjoy the life he's waited so long to have.

URGENT Funding Needed For Heartworm Treatment

Many of the sweet dogs that Last Chance Arkansas select for rescue are also selected because of their severe need for medical attention leaving them with little chance of leaving the animal shelter if we didn't provide them with the necessary medical attention. One of the biggest threats for our dogs is the presence of heartworms. Unfortunately, with the recent announcement of a shortage nationwide for the drug used in heartworm treatment, the cost for treatment has skyrocketed. We already have 8 dogs identified for candidates as Last Chance dogs, but they are heartworm positive and our funds are running out.

In the weeks and months to come we will be focusing our fund-raising efforts on heartworm treatment, but until we can raise additional funds or grants, we will no longer be able to rescue heartworm positive dogs. Your donations as always are very much appreciated and especially needed during this crisis. We understand that you are making a conscious effort to help our cause when you choose to make your contributions to us. Even if you can't make any monetary contributions at the present time, if you can pass along our message to your friends and family you will be helping our cause.

Donations to the Emergency Care Fund

 

If you would like to designate your donation for the care of a specific special needs dog, please use the button under that dog's picture and biography. However, please be aware that it is impossible for us to know in advance how much money will be donated for a particular dog and in some cases it is impossible to know how much will be needed for that dog's medical care.

Therefore, if more money is donated for a particular dog than we end up needing for him or her, the excess will be used for other special needs dogs. You can be assured that 100% of your donation will be used to care for sick or injured dogs, but we cannot absolutely guarantee that all funds donated will be needed for that specific dog.
